Some people prefer to fall asleep (or wake up) to the sound of soft music such as nature sounds. Not only does it make your morning more relaxing, but it also prevents the sudden jolt you get from standard alarm clocks.

My name is Burak, and I'm an alarm clock specialist. I have designed my own alarm clock and have an eye for what works and what doesn't.

When reviewing the best alarm clocks with nature sounds, I found the LBell Sunrise Alarm Clock to be an excellent choice. Not only does it come with a variety of different nature noises, but it also mimics the natural sunlight to wake you up.

In this article, I'm going to review some other alarm clocks with nature sounds. Everything I write is geared towards helping you make an informed purchase, so If I find something I don't like, I'll be sure to mention it.

Let's get into it.

LBell Sunrise Alarm Clock

Best Feature: Combines Nature Sounds With Natural Brightness

The LBell Sunrise Alarm Clock has seven different nature sounds you can wake up to. Once the alarm sounds, you can keep the soft music playing for up to 15 minutes afterwards, allowing you to wake up gradually.

Alternatively, there is a built-in radio you can use for your alarm; however, I wouldn't recommend it.

Waking up to nature sounds is more beneficial for your mind and your body.

It also mimics natural sunlight by slowing adjusting the brightness over 10-60 minutes, depending on your preference. Throughout this time, the alarm clock will go through 20 different levels of brightness.

When you combine soft music and natural sunlight, it helps prevent grogginess in the morning, leading to a more happy and productive day.

What's more, the LBell Alarm Clock doesn't produce any light throughout the night, which is great for people who like sleeping in complete darkness.

The only issue we found is that the highest brightness setting can be a little too bright for some people; however, this can be solved by changing the settings on the alarm clock.

Pros:

  • You can keep nature sounds playing up to 15 minutes after your alarm clock goes off, so you can wake up slowly
  • You can wake up gradually over 10-60 minutes, using artificial sunlight
  • Waking up gradually using natural sunlight has been shown to prevent grogginess in the morning

Cons:

  • The highest setting can be too bright for some people but can be solved by adjusting the clocks settings

REACHER Digital Alarm Clock Radio

Best Feature: Great Radio Signal

Check Price on Amazon

Similar to the LBell Alarm Clock, the Reacher Digital can also be used as a radio alarm. However, it doesn't include the natural sunlight feature, which isn't ideal, in my opinion.

Compared to the previous model, it is much easier for people to get a radio signal. Previously, customers were complaining about how they needed to be close to a window for the radio to function.

While the radio is the main feature of this alarm clock, you can also wake up to nature sounds such as a flute, bird, bell, piano, or buzzer.

The volume can be changed between 30 settings, preventing you from getting jolted out of bed by a loud alarm clock.

Hence why iPhone alarms aren't ideal!

What's more, it isn't too big, so you'll have plenty of space leftover on your nightstand. Using the extra space, you can even charge your phone using the USB located on the back.

So how about the downsides!?

The product page states that it's a dual alarm clock, meaning you can set two different alarms. While this is true, you can only set one alarm for weekdays and another for weekends.

This isn't ideal if you want to wake up at different times throughout the week!

Also, there isn't a battery indicator on the display screen, so you won't know when to change the batteries. While this isn't a major downside, let's hope the batteries don't run out during the night when you're expecting an alarm!

Pros:

  • You can wake up to nature sounds or the radio, giving you the best of both worlds
  • The radio signal is excellent, especially when compared with the previous model
  • 30 different volume adjustments, preventing you from being jolted awake unexpectedly
  • Fits perfectly on your nightstand with extra space left over

Cons:

  • The dual alarm clock can only be set on a weekday or weekend basis, making it difficult for people who need to wake up at different times throughout the week
  • There isn't a battery indicator, so you won't know when it's going to run out of battery

Sharp Projection Alarm Clock

Best Feature: Ability To Project Time Onto Wall Or Ceiling

The Sharp Alarm Clock is a great projection alarm clock that boasts a special feature. As well as having a LED screen, the time can also be projected onto your wall or ceiling.

So you won't have to look at a bright display screen in the middle of the night!

When it comes to nature sounds, you'll have a few variations to choose from. I recommend sticking with the thunderstorm sound for relaxation. The nature sounds are designed to fall asleep rather than to be awoken by.

While this clock does have some great features, I discovered the negatives outweigh the positives.

Some customers loved this alarm clock, whereas others had a lot of bad things to say about it. One customer even said that it starts flashing by itself in the middle of the night, which is the last thing you need when trying to get some shut-eye.

Also, the nature sounds aren't as good as some of the other alarm clocks on the market.

For this reason, I wouldn't consider spending your money on this alarm clock.

Pros:

  • Can project the time onto your ceiling or walls, so you don't have to look at a bright alarm clock during the night
  • There are multiple nature sounds to fall asleep to; however, the thunderstorm is the most relaxing

Cons:

  • The nature sounds aren't as vivid as some of the other alarm clocks on the market, making it difficult to fall asleep
  • One customer said that it started flashing during the night, which woke him up

Homedics Recharged Alarm Clock

Best Feature: Waking You Up Gradually By Increasing The Alarm Noise

Check Price on Amazon

The Homedics Alarm Clock And Sound Machine can be used as a radio, alarm, thermometer, and more, making it one of the best all-in-one alarm clocks on the market.

When the alarm goes off, it doesn't make you jump out of bed with a rush of adrenaline. The noise level will gradually increase, allowing you to wake up at your own pace.

This is great if you take a while to wake up in the morning.

You can also fall asleep to the sounds of nature using this alarm clock. There are four settings to choose from

You can either set the nature sounds for 15, 30, or 45 minutes. Alternatively, you can let the soft music play all night long, providing you don't have any trouble sleeping.

However, you can only adjust the volume between two settings, and even the lowest setting can be a little loud for some people.

For this reason, I recommend this alarm clock for heavy sleepers who can fall asleep to the sounds of nature.

If you're a light sleeper, consider the LBell Sunrise Alarm Clock.

Pros:

  • All-in-one alarm clock that can be used as a thermostat, radio, project, and more.
  • When the alarm sounds, the noise level will gradually increase, rather than making you jump out of bed in the morning
  • You can fall asleep to nature sounds for 15, 30, or 45 minutes.

Cons:

  • There are only two volume settings, and the lowest one can still be a little loud for some people

La Crosse Technology Alarm Clock with Nature Sound

Best Feature: Adjustable Noise Levels

Check Price on Amazon

This mood alarm clock allows you to play continuous nature sounds for up to 90 minutes before falling asleep, which is longer than most other models on this list.

You can choose between the rain, ocean, backwoods, thunder, river, or a standard alarm.

One of the reasons I like this alarm clock is because you can adjust the volume, so it's not going to be overbearing while trying to sleep. You have nine volume levels to choose from, each one making the music louder.

What's more, if you enjoy sleeping in complete darkness, you'll be glad to hear the LED screen and lighting system can be turned off completely, helping you enter deeper sleep.

When it comes to the time to wake up, you can combine nature sounds with lighting, helping you wake up slowly and without feeling groggy.

How about the negatives of this product?

I discovered that to adjust the controls, you need to press the buttons located on top of the clock; however, these can be difficult to see in the dark.

Also, when the alarm sounds, the brightness and noise levels increase over 5 minutes, which isn't a lot of time. Most alarm clocks increase brightness and noise over a period of 30 minutes, which is a lot more practical.

Pros:

  • Can play nature sounds for up to 90 minutes after going to sleep, which is more than other models on the list
  • You can adjust the volume, so it's not going to distract you from sleeping
  • The LED screen can be turned off while sleeping, which is great for people who enjoy complete darkness

Cons:

  • The controls are on the top of the clock and can be difficult to see in the dark
  • The alarm noise and brightness increases over 5 minutes, which isn't enough time

What To Consider When Buying A Clock With Nature Sounds

To get an alarm clock with soothing sounds, here are some features you need to consider:

Volume Adjustment

After reviewing what customers had to say about nature-sounding alarm clocks, I discovered a common complaint was that the volume wasn't adjustable.

Most of these clocks allow you to fall asleep to the sound of white noise, so it's important to be able to change the volume, especially if you're a light sleeper.

If you're a heavy sleeper, then this doesn't apply as much.

Continuous Noise

What's better than waking up to the sound of nature!?

Not much, in my opinion!

However, some alarm clocks go the extra mile and allow you to keep the nature sounds playing for longer after you've woken up.

While this feature isn't essential, it's still great to look out for.

Multiple Different Sounds

Try to find an alarm clock that has multiple nature sounds to choose from. The last thing you want is to make a purchase and discover you can only wake up (or fall asleep) to the sounds of ocean waves.

Choosing an alarm clock with multiple sounds means that even if you don't like a certain noise, you can change it to something else.

Final Verdict

Some nature-sounding alarm clocks don't work as described, so it's important to choose one that functions as it should.

Hence why I created this article.

I hope this article has helped you choose the best alarm clocks with nature sounds.

If you've had a look through the options in this article and are still stuck for choice, I'd recommend getting the LBell Sunrise Alarm Alarm Clock.
